Gamuda Plant Operator School or GPOS in abbreviation is Gamuda's contribution to nation building through infrastructure and people development. Established in April 1997, GPOS is a non-profit training centre dedicated to the upgrading of competencies and skills in the construction industry.
Officially opened in 1999, today, GPOS is the largest and the only one-stop training centre for plant operation in Malaysia.
- Upgrade the knowledge, skill ad work performance of existing plant operators.
- Groom and develop a pool of new plant operators to meet the needs of the Group and industry.
- Set up skill standards and inculcate good safety practises, proper plant maintenance techniques and other requirements to be observed in plant operators at work sites.
- Contribute to the government's aspiration to improve skill standards in the construction industry and to ensure ready supply of skillled workers.
RM10 million has been invested into this key initiative which include a state-of-the-art training facility covering over 36,000m2 of land and heavy machinery for training activities.
To date, Gamuda has invested more that RM22 million in GPOS.
